1. Restricting where a person can live or work based on a factor outside of their control – the geographical location where they were born – violates their natural rights and hearkens back to the to the days when governments imposed the same restrictions on those who happened to be born with a certain skin color.

2. Immigration, like free trade, improves the economy. Robust immigration helps to raise the standard of living. Limits on the potential pool of mental and physical labor only diminishes the market's potential for wealth creation. A rising tide raises all ships.

3. Allowing more immigration is a peaceful way to pressure tyrannical States to change their domestic laws to stem the loss of their best and brightest, which is great for individuals still living in those countries.

4. In general, immigrants improve their standard of living and live a better life in countries they emigrate to than their native country. We should be concerned about the welfare of all persons, not just those who happen to be born within a certain arbitrary political boundary.

5. Immigrants fucking rock. They move to areas where their labor -- both mental and physical -- can better be utilized. Where entrepreneurs have the best chance at seeing their dreams realized. They provide a positive externality, creating jobs and goods and services.

6. Immigrants internalize the ideas of freedom. They know the stifling effects of burdensome, corrupt governments. By uprooting their family and moving to a new culture, they have demonstrated that they value individual liberty, personal responsibility, and markets. They have, quite literally, voted with their feet. They remind each of us of the importance of liberty, and of the importance of preserving that liberty.

Immigration Laws Kill
If you advocate immigration laws, you have to accept collateral damage towards a "greater good."

You believe that the price to be paid by the immigrants of the world is justified by some perceived benefit accruing to someone else — someone else who probably hasn't had to pay any price whatsoever. You must believe that some immigrants simply aren't worth as much as some barely noticeable increase in your standard of living. You justify these deaths, for the greater good, by convincing yourself that they are less-than-human; criminals in-fact. Satisfied that these people are criminals who do not deserve to be treated like human beings with inalienable rights, there is virtually no limit to the injustices you will permit to be carried out agaisnt them, in your name.

Mr. Bah’s relatives never saw the internal records labeled “proprietary information — not for distribution” by the Corrections Corporation of America, which runs the New Jersey detention center for the federal government. The documents detail how he was treated by guards and government employees: shackled and pinned to the floor of the medical unit as he moaned and vomited, then left in a disciplinary cell for more than 13 hours, despite repeated notations that he was unresponsive and intermittently foaming at the mouth.
Your laws and your bureaucracies kill innocent people. Do you feel safer, yet? Do you want to hold the gun?
