Government is like salt.

  • There is plenty by itself.  No need to add any.
  • Used very sparingly, it probably won't kill you.
  • After a while, most people can't taste it and they keep adding more.
  • It is used to preserve what in fact should be allowed to rot.
  • It is in everything.
  • To add it is very easy.  To get rid of it is virtually impossible.

My thoughts, anyway.
