Homeland Tyranny Campaign
Statist of the Week: Larry Ellison

Regulate it!Larry may seem to be a controversial choice at first because he is a business leader but as Spider Man says, “With great power comes great responsibility.” The Oracle boss first entered the Bureaucrash radar in 2001 when he met with John Ashcroft and offered to give the U.S. government the software to run a National ID program.

In 2004 he reappeared when he defended selling technology to China that they later used to censor news to their citizens:

The Chinese government has the right to do it," Ellison said as he answered audience questions following his keynote speech at OracleWorld Wednesday afternoon. "It's a sovereign country.

Now Larry has given John Ashcroft a $220,000 check to help Oracle land some sweet Homeland Security contracts. I hope you'll understand how a partnership of this nature makes this crasher feel a bit quesy. It has also made Larry the "Statist of the Week."
