An e-mail to the Youth Communist League from me (chefan17@gmail.com).
Hello, I'm Bill Louis from the progressives against progress (http://www.progressivesagainstprogress.com/). We believe that any progress brought about by corporations can never be helpful in the end, and should be stomped out, and were wondering if you would like to join us in some of our campaigns. We advocate an end to corporate farming. It is true that corporate farms produce greater quantities of food at lower costs, allowing most citizens to enter more cerebral and even more fulfilling lines of work. However, the downfall of the family farm also represents the downfall of a heritage of quaintness shared by the United States and Europe. Further, family farms are less likely to use pesticides, which may very well be unhealthy. We believe people should endeavor to grow as much of their food as possible for themselves in their back yards, employing their children as farm hands if necessary. Reversing current trends towards the industrialization of agriculture would allow the citizens of the world to return to their heritage of healthy, character-building child labor. Furthermore, the resulting decrease in food output would help to reduce the epidemic of obesity now raging across the U.S. and Europe. We advocate an end to the use of genetically engineered foods , regardless of the resulting impact on the availability of food to the world’s poorest citizens. We believe that reducing levels of starvation is not worth even the smallest risks associated with the use of these techniques. Although there is still no evidence that genetic modification of food leads to adverse health effects or negative impacts on ecosystems, we advocate erring on the side of caution. Caution and acceptable levels of starvation are preferable to the remote risks associated with GMOs. It’s better to be safe (and maybe a little starving) than sorry. We oppose profit-oriented businesses being allowed to manufacture drugs and other health care goods and services . We believe that unlike every other industry, health care can be more efficiently and effectively provided by political bureaucracies and state sponsored monopolies, than by competitive, profit seeking firms. Furthermore, although scientific progress in medicine has always been driven by competition between researchers, we believe that the terms of this progress are unacceptable. Fundamentally, we believe there are grave moral problems inherent in researchers profiting by saving lives. We want to imitate not innovate! Corporations are only interested in creating new and more effective AIDS drugs in an effort to increase their profits. We believe that it is more important to give drugs to the masses than to attempt to create more effective methods. We can not be sure if this methods will succeed, and thus they are only a burden to humanity. The only way to defeat AIDS is to eliminate the current benefits of innovation. Preserve and democratize the internet! We supported legislation that calls for the redistribution of bandwidth, through the imposition of a tax. For each kilobyte of bandwidth consumed, 20% should be redistributed to low-income individuals & non-profits, for the perpetuation of their own message. This is necessary in order to insure equity in internet access. No group should command more bandwidth than is absolutely necessary to convey such group’s message. This means the elimination of excess graphics, large script files, and verbose wording, to the greatest extent possible. Bandwidth tax incentives should be offered to those who reduce their use of bandwidth by a stated amount each year. Support proven and successful communist leaders! We believe Fidel Castro should be elected for president. He established a nationalized health care system for an entire nation of workers, was successful in building a truly classless society, nationalized industry, confiscated private property for public use, publicized agriculture, and enacted policies that truly benefited the people. Enough passive attempts to spread our message; we must be equal! For years the greedy corporations have used violence, coercion, fringe benefits, and higher wages as tools to manipulate the populating into working for them. Equality can only be achieved through compensation for past wrongs! These corporations have been allowed to violently abuse workers for hundreds of years; now is our time! We must use force to achieve our goals if necessary. The benefits communism would bring us is enough to justify these actions. The people simply need time under communism, and they will realize what a wonderful system it is. Thank you for your time. Please join us in our efforts to save America! -- Bill Louis
