Last weekend we mentioned that the folks from the National Taxpayers Union were “spearheading a protest at the U.S. Conference of Mayors meeting” to push back against the pork projects that riddled their request of $96,000,000,000 from the Feds.
For more, head over to NTU’s website and check out Bureaucrash’s Tax Slavery Sucks overview. And if fighting taxes and pork projects are your thing, check out Citizens Against Government Waste. Because, as Crasher Greg Molson noted on his “Best Libertarian Quotes“ post over on Bureaucrash Social:
Libertarianism is a philosophy. The basic premise of libertarianism is that each individual should be free to do as he or she pleases so long as he or she does not harm others. In the libertarian view, societies and governments infringe on individual liberties whenever they tax wealth, create penalties for victimless crimes, or otherwise attempt to control or regulate individual conduct which harms or benefits no one except the individual who engages in it. – definition written by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service
Makes sense to me.
