Libertarianism 101 With Lew Rockwell & Naomi Wolf

Posted on January 18th, 2009 by Pete Eyre in Bureaucrash HQ

rockwellLooks like I’m a bit behind the curve but this was too good to not share: A couple of months back Lew Rockwell interviewed Naomi Wolf. To put this in perspective, Lew Rockwell, who studied under and with Murray Rothbard, currently heads up the Mises Institute and Wolf is an outspoken author about feminism.

In the conversation Rockwell outlines the basic tenets of libertarianism to a very open-minded Wolf. A couple of choice quotes from the latter:

  • “I’m almost scared talking to you and particularly well-informed members of your community because some of the theory that you offer makes things make sense that don’t otherwise make sense.”
  • “You are right! You are completely right!”

For more about the views that Rockwell touches on, check out the Intel overviews on Bureaucrash Social. If your choice medium for consumption of these ideas is audio, give a listen to Bureaucrash’s Podcrash hosted by Xaq Fixx. And if a search for “feminists” got you to this post, make sure you check out ifeminists.org, a site managed by Wendy McElroy.

Props to Crasher Surrealpolichick, from whose personal blog I initially stumbled upon this podcast and to Jon and fonz85 for pointing out my error in first blogging about Naomi Klien rather than Naomi Wolf. I guess my hope that one of the leading anti-globalization spokesperson would embrace voluntary interactions clouded my reading ability and hearing.
