The Bureaucrash Bulletin: January 5th, 2009

January 5th, 2009
Crashers,
I hope you had an excellent (and safe!) holiday season. Today I have for you some requests and some news:
The Requests:
Let’s swell our ranks on Bureaucrash Social. Lot’s of y’all are inviting those in your sphere to join our community (I love seeing “I was invited” given as the reason on a crasher profile’s as to why they joined BCSocial!) so I thought I’d provide some text to make it even easier. Many of our friends and family members recognize that more government isn’t the answer but they aren’t sure of where to turn for an alternative. That’s where you can play a vital role. Share the following link far and wide (email it, post it as your Facebook status, Twit it, etc.) or if you have other text that’ll work better, use that.

Many of y’all have hit me up asking if there’s a way to search for other crashers based on their location. As I’ve responded to those queries, unfortunately Ning, the platform on which Bureaucrash Social is hosted, doesn’t aggregate such info. That’s why I’m asking you to do the following so that other crashers can find and connect with you:
- Add a location (i.e. city, state, country) to your profile.
-

Join a group based on your geographical location, or form one if it doesn’t already exist.
The News:
We’ve released a new Podcrash that features Cord Blomquist talking about net neutrality! Download it and be sure to share your feedback with us.
If you’re in college you need to apply today (the deadline!) to attend a free seminar hosted by the Institute for Humane Studies over spring break (it’ll only take you 15-20min max). Prior to my coming on-board here at Bureaucrash, I was fortunate to work over at IHS so I’ve seen first-hand just how top-notch and life-changing they can be.
Graphic Guru Dan Wilk has completed an overhaul of our Contraband site to make it more user-friendly. Props to everyone who provided input on this process.
May 2009 make all your wishes (assuming they respect the equal rights of others) come true.
In peace and liberty,
-Pete
