Armed with a Camera, Phoenix-Based Freedom Fighter Arrested
Not a fan of speed laws? Or of cameras that capture speeders? Neither is Jason Shelton and Phoenix-based group 4409, who decided to do more than bitch about them amongst themselves. Armed with a video camera and a sign they quite literally hit the street to communicate their sentiment.
Shelton, the man seen in the video, was later arrested by Scotsdale’s finest. According to the Scottsdale PD, he was charged with “Refusing to Provide Truthful Name and Obstructing Government Operations,” yet Shelton and his supports claim that the vehicle in the video was owned and operated by an Australian firm, so the latter charge is not applicable.
Shelton and his supporters, which include Ernest Hancock (who runs Freedom’s Phoenix, a group whose “About Us” page notes that “We recognize that Freedom was taken from us the moment the ink was drying on the Constitution. . . We know Freedom will rise from the ashes, and we want to make sure that everyone’s Freedom is never signed away again by those who believe they have the power to do so.) sought to raise $4,000 for his defense fund. And though I had hoped that those in the Bureaucrash sphere could help contribute, Sheton’s case only now reached my radar, a couple of months too late.
But, hopefully Shelton was empowered by the outpouring of support for his actions and others were motivated to stand against tyranny.

Thanks to Gary H. for putting bringing this video to my attention.
