Atlas Shrugged Pic, Maybe? *shrugs*
While there have been talks of an Atlas Shrugged movie for several years, here is the first article I have seen about it. After 12 Monkeys and Fight Club, I respect Brad Pitt as an actor and have no qualms about him playing the role of John Galt. Angelina Jolie as Dagny Taggart I am less excited about, but have no real reason to doubt her ability. I am more interested in who they will cast for Hank Rearden, Francisco D’Anconia, Ragnar Danneskjold and Wesley Mouch. (Sounds misogynistic of me.) Unfortunately I foresee characters like the wet nurse and possibly Eddie Willers being entirely cut out, as well as the whole motif of Richard Halley’s 5th concerto. Regardless, I hope the film actually enters production this time. As a note of further interest, according to the article Angelina Jolie is a Rand enthusiast. I suppose we need some rationality in hollywood to combat Tom Cruise.
